Terry was born and bred in Belfast, and grew up as a parishioner of St Aidan’s, in the Diocese of Connor. It was while completing a degree in Economics and Accountancy at QUB in the late 1970’s that he began to feel the stirrings of a calling to the ordained ministry. Ordained in 1980 he served curacies in Ballymena and Antrim. In 1985 he was appointed rector of St Patrick’s Antrim and St Saviour’s Connor and then in 1988 he became our rector here at St Swithin’s. In addition to being rector of St Swithin’s he was appointed Archdeacon of Armagh in October 2014.
Married to Alyson, a lecturer at NRC Magherafelt, they have 3 grown up children, Richard, Rebecca and Patrick. He enjoys all sports which involve a ball – is a mediocre “fair-weather” golfer, and a life-long ardent supporter of Man Utd! Amongst his other interests are music and all things French!
